American Trotting Horses
The imagery Dalí chose for the lithograph American Trotting Horses was derived from the interpretation of a famous Currier and Ives print, which is collaged at the bottom of this work. Here Dalí spins the American Trotting Horses landscape into a surreal scene as he turns the horses into futuristic creatures and simplifies their detail with dark shadows and bright orange.
