In 60 Years of Graphic Works, Picasso chooses to use the face of a clown, outlined in dramatic color to create an eye-catching lithograph, reminiscent of his creations for events in France, like “Carnival”. Bright orange shapes the head and forms the nose. The cheeks are enhanced with strokes of blue and green, and the eyes wink out with lavender and navy blue. The pink lips add a bit of punch, and the artist has playfully captured our attention with an original image that is unmistakably “Picasso”.
